Most things we put on our desks were never really designed.
They were produced. Pressed out of a mould somewhere, shipped in bulk, sold at a price point. Functional, technically. But they carry no intention. They don't make your space feel better. They just fill it.
That bothered me for a long time.
The Founder
I'm Rohit Kumar — a product and visual designer based in Gurgaon with over six years of experience designing physical objects.
I've designed luxury furniture and lighting for brands like Ralph Lauren, Restoration Hardware, and Aspinal of London. I've launched products that were featured in Architectural Digest and shown at the London Design Festival. I've spent years learning how materials behave, how objects feel in the hand, and why some things last and others don't.
In 2025, I started Kuro Design to make something for my own desk. What I found was that most desk accessories in India were either generic imports or expensive art objects. Neither felt right. I wanted something quiet. Considered. Made with honesty.
So I started making it.
Minimalism. Function. Timelessness.
The Philosophy
It is not a design trend. It is not a marketing idea. It is something most people quietly understand but rarely say out loud: the objects around you affect how you think and feel.
A cluttered desk creates a cluttered mind. A space filled with things you chose carefully — things that are honest about what they are — has the opposite effect. It slows you down just enough to let you focus.
That is what every Kuro piece is designed to do. Not decorate. Anchor.
